In 2017, CHIA manufactured a conveying and processing solution for wet olive pomace at an industrial facility in Tunisia. The project included a conveyor belt measuring 10 metres in length and 600 mm in width, designed to move the material through the production line.
The installation also incorporated a 4,000 mm mixer with a production capacity of 15 tonnes per hour. This equipment was complemented by a 1,000 × 600 mm single-deck screen, manufactured with a 40 × 40 mm opening and 4 mm diameter stainless-steel wire.
Wet pomace presents particular handling challenges because of its moisture, consistency and tendency to adhere to surfaces. The combination of conveying, mixing and screening equipment made it possible to organise the different processing stages within a single coordinated line.
The project was manufactured according to the customer’s production requirements and the characteristics of the material handled at the plant.
