In 2015, CHIA manufactured a ship loading conveyor for an installation at the Port of Arzew in Algeria. The equipment was designed for a 30-metre-long vessel and incorporated a system that allowed material to be received directly from trucks.
The project required the coordination of the truck unloading stage with the subsequent transfer and loading of the material onto the vessel. The conveyor therefore had to be adapted to the dimensions of the operating area, the required loading point and the conditions of the port environment.
By developing the machinery specifically for the installation, CHIA provided a solution that organised the flow of material from land transport to the ship. This type of custom port equipment helps reduce unnecessary handling operations and facilitates a more continuous loading process.
The project demonstrates CHIA’s capacity to manufacture conveying machinery for port logistics and bulk-material handling applications.
