In 2011, CHIA designed and manufactured an olive pit drying system for an industrial facility in Chile. The project included a combustion chamber and the equipment required to carry out the drying process under the operating conditions established by the customer.
Olive pits are a by-product of olive processing that can be recovered for different industrial and energy applications. Before subsequent use, their moisture content may need to be reduced through a controlled drying process.
The solution developed by CHIA was adapted to the characteristics of the material and the requirements of the destination facility. The project considered the relationship between heat generation, material movement and the continuity of the production process.
This international project strengthened CHIA’s experience in designing drying equipment and combustion systems for the olive oil industry, as well as its capacity to adapt machinery to plants located in different markets.
